Linwar's website has undergone a re-design and has lots of new sections and products. More BMW items are being added daily. At present only new BMW parts are available online, but we plan to add used parts too.

You can click on any product to get more information about it e.g. its application, condition, related products etc.

The most important thing to look out for is the Part Class. This can be found by going each product's information page (click the product to do this). Parts Class indicates the quality of the part.

We feel that this is an important addition to the site as many of the parts we stock are Original Equipment. Few other sites distinguish the quality of the parts they sell so clearly.

Original Equipment (OEM/OES)
A new part identical to a Genuine BMW one, but without the BMW packaging. These parts are manufactured in the same plants as Genuine BMW ones and generally have any BMW markings obscured or removed

1st Equipment Supplier
A new high quality part meeting the specification of the BMW part. Parts designated 1st Equipment Supplier comply with European Block Exemption Regulations (BER)

Replacement
These parts are new, but are not necessarily manufactured to the same standard as the classes above and may not comply with BER. This is obvious from the prices!

Remanufactured
A part which has been professionally rebuilt with new parts and extensively tested

Tuning
A part which is not available from BMW and changes the appearance of the vehicle from standard

Sport
A part designed to make the vehicle more sporty

A glaring omission

Even though we owned and used this BMW 3.3 Long Wheek Base (LWB) car since we bought it in 1984 from the wealthy landower mentioned in the article and had nurtured it until selling it to Mr Mills last year we don't seem to get a mention in the article!

The car had been used regularly upto a year or two before selling it and was in pretty fair condition. We had 50,000 miles of faultless motoring in it! All that has been done since is some cosmetic work.
